Site Supervisor

The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations on the construction site, ensuring that all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications. This role involves supervising staff, coordinating subcontractors, and liaising with clients and contractors to ensure the successful completion of the project.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Supervision and Leadership**:

- Supervise and manage on-site workers, including laborers, subcontractors, and contractors.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to workers, ensuring proper workflow and efficient use of resources.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to team members, ensuring high-quality work standards.
- Maintain positive relationships with workers, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- **Safety Compliance**:

- Ensure that all workers adhere to safety regulations and best practices on the site.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and risk assessments, reporting any safety hazards.
- Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure that safety protocols are followed.
- Investigate accidents and incidents and implement corrective measures.
- **Quality Control**:

- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and local regulations.
- Inspect the work completed by subcontractors and employees to ensure quality standards are met.
- Resolve any issues related to the quality of work or materials.
- **Project Coordination**:

- Collaborate with the project manager, engineers, and architects to ensure the project stays on schedule.
- Coordinate the delivery and proper storage of materials and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, including progress, manpower, and material usage.
- Assist in managing the construction schedule, ensuring milestones are met.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Keep detailed records of site activities, including labor hours, material usage, and equipment usage.
- Provide regular progress reports to the project manager and other stakeholders.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and report any issues to senior management.
- **Problem Solving**:

- Address any operational or logístical problems that arise on the site, providing solutions to maintain project flow.
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and clients to resolve any conflicts or issues.
- **Resource Management**:

- Manage the daily allocation of resources, ensuring that the correct materials and personnel are available at the right times.
- Ensure that tools and machinery are in good working order and arrange for repairs as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree or certifications in construction management or related field preferred).
- **Experience**: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction or related fields, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- **Certifications**: OSHA certification, first aid, or other safety training may be required (depending on the project and location).
- **Skills**:

- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand, walk, and lift materials for long periods.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and on uneven or rough terrain.
- Capacity to work in a physically demanding environment with attention to safety and health.

**Work Environment**:

- The Site Supervisor will work on construction sites, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions, noise, and construction equipment.
- Travel to multiple sites may be required depending on the company’s scope of work.
