**Skills Required**:

- Ability to set up the VMC and HMC machines, including installing tools, fixtures, and ensuring proper machine calibration.
- Understanding of G-code programming for both VMC and HMC.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting G-code or M-code instructions.
- Basic knowledge of CNC programming techniques for both VMC and HMC
- Operate CNC machines to perform milling, drilling, tapping, and other operations.
- Ability to load and unload materials or workpieces, ensuring they are securely placed on the work table.
- Ability to change worn-out tools and set tool offsets correctly.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Identifying problems with CNC programs, tools, or machine setup and resolving them quickly.
- Good communication skills to work with other operators, machinists, and supervisors.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Secure parts and tools in the machine’s horizontal spindle setup.
- Configure tools and set the machine to accommodate multi-axis or multi-face machining tasks.
- Edit and adjust programs for horizontal machining, which may involve multi-axis operations.
- Optimize tool paths and cutting strategies for better efficiency and reduced part cycle time.
- Ensure parts are accurately positioned and oriented for multi-side machining on the horizontal table.
- Perform operations like drilling, tapping, milling, and face milling on different surfaces of the workpiece.
- Work with automated systems and robotic arms (if available) for loading/unloading parts to increase machine utilization.
- Ensure that the tool changer works efficiently, minimizing downtime due to tool swaps.
- Perform more frequent and detailed in-process inspection due to the increased complexity of the parts being machined.
- Handle larger or more intricate parts that require careful monitoring of all surfaces for conformity to tolerances.
- Given that HMC machines can handle more complex parts faster, operators must ensure that the machine is running at maximum efficiency.
- Minimize tool changes and downtime by preparing tools and setups in advance.
- Perform more frequent maintenance on high-demand, high-precision equipment, including coolant systems, tool changers, and rotary tables.
- Regularly check the condition of fixtures and ensure the table is properly aligned.
