The Deputy Librarian shall work under the supervision and guidance of Librarian of the University. He/ she will be responsible for the upkeep of the Library and follow systems, procedures and policies implemented by the University at the respective Schools. He/ she will also be responsible for providing various Library services and media technology for the School, assisting in operations of Schools, organizing, cataloging the collection, researching in automation, vendor options and studying its effectiveness, providing reference services by utilizing conventional and electronic database resources. He/ she shall evaluate and select materials to support the academic curriculum and the education, personal and social/ vocational needs of the School.
**Eligibility Criteria**
Master’s degree in Library Science/ Information Science/ Documentation with atleast 55% of marks or its equivalent grade B+ in the UGC seven point scale and consistently good academic record.
Atleast 5 years experience as Assistant Librarian in University Library or 10-15 years experience as a College Librarian. Evidence of innovative Library service and organization of published work should be provided. Should have hands on experience in Library Automation. Qualifying in the National level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by UGC. Ph.D / M.Phil. degree in Library Science/ Information Science/ Documentation/ Archives and manuscript-keeping is desirable.
