**Job Summary**:
The Academic Counselor plays a key role in supporting students' academic success and personal development. This position provides guidance, counseling, and advice to students regarding their academic progress, course selection, career planning, and personal challenges. The academic counselor works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administration to ensure students receive the resources and support they need to achieve their academic and career goals.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Academic Advising**:

- Assist students in selecting courses that align with their academic and career goals.
- Guide students through degree requirements, prerequisites, and academic policies.
- Monitor and evaluate students’ academic progress and recommend interventions if necessary.
- **Career Counseling**:

- Provide guidance on career exploration and the connection between academic programs and potential career paths.
- Assist students with resume writing, internship placements, and job search strategies.
- Host career workshops and information sessions.
- **Personal Counseling**:

- Offer counseling services to students regarding academic stress, personal issues, time management, and study skills.
- Refer students to mental health or wellness resources when needed.
- **Program Development and Support**:

- Develop and lead workshops on topics such as study skills, academic planning, and career readiness.
- Provide support for students who are on academic probation or facing academic difficulties.
- Work with faculty and staff to identify at-risk students and create intervention plans.
- **Administrative Tasks**:

- Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, academic progress, and advising notes.
- Prepare reports on student progress and academic trends for the department.
- Stay updated on university policies, course offerings, and academic resources.
- **Collaborative Efforts**:

- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other departments to create a supportive and successful learning environment for students.
- Serve as a liaison between students and university administration.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**:

- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or related field (required).
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Higher Education, or related field (preferred).
- **Experience**:

- Previous experience in academic advising, counseling, or student services (preferred).
- Strong understanding of academic policies, degree programs, and career development processes.
- **Skills**:

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills.
- Ability to work with diverse student populations.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
- Familiarity with student information systems and office software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- **Personal Attributes**:

- Empathetic, patient, and approachable.
- Highly motivated with a student-centered approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Working Conditions**:

- Typical office environment, with occasional evening or weekend hours for workshops, career events, or advising sessions.
- Position may involve occasional travel for recruitment or career-related events.

**Application Process**:
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
