Key Responsibilities:

- **Individualized Education Planning**:

- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students’ strengths, needs, and progress.
- Set specific, measurable goals for each student and adjust educational plans as necessary.
- **Instruction and Support**:

- Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs, using specialized teaching strategies and resources.
- Adapt lesson plans and teaching materials to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Use assistive technologies and other resources to support learning and communication.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:

- Work closely with general education teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support students’ educational and developmental goals.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding students’ progress, challenges, and achievements.
- Participate in team meetings, IEP meetings, and other collaborative efforts to coordinate and enhance support for students.
- **Classroom Management**:

- Create and maintain a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Implement strategies to manage behavior and promote social and emotional development.
- Ensure that students feel valued and supported in their learning environment.
- **Professional Development**:

- Stay informed about the latest developments in special education practices, methodologies, and regulations.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to school-wide initiatives and collaborate with colleagues to improve educational practices.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and interventions.
- Prepare and submit reports, documentation, and data as required by school policies and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards related to special education.

Qualifications:

- **Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field is preferred.
- Certification in Special Education is required.
- **Experience**:

- Previous experience working as a special educator or in a similar role is preferred.
- Experience with various disabilities, learning differences, and educational strategies is beneficial.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Bengaluru, Karnataka: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (required)
