Academic Counselor

**Job Overview**:
Coreframe Institute of Technology is seeking a highly motivated **Academic Counselor** to guide and support students throughout their educational journey. As an Academic Counselor, you will work closely with prospective and current students to understand their academic goals, provide counseling and career guidance, help them select appropriate courses, and ensure they are on track to meet their career and educational objectives. You will also act as a liaison between students and faculty, ensuring effective communication and addressing any academic concerns or challenges.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Student Counseling**:

- Provide one-on-one academic counseling to students, helping them identify their strengths, weaknesses, and academic goals.
- Advise students on appropriate course selections, career paths, and academic strategies.
- Assist students in overcoming academic challenges and developing effective study habits.
- **Career Guidance**:

- Provide guidance on career opportunities based on students' skills, interests, and industry trends.
- Offer insights into various IT career paths, internships, and post-graduation opportunities.
- Organize workshops and webinars related to career development, resume building, and interview preparation.
- **Course Guidance & Support**:

- Assist students in understanding the curriculum structure, program requirements, and learning outcomes of their selected courses.
- Monitor students’ progress and academic performance and suggest improvements when needed.
- **Monitoring & Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, student progress, and other relevant documentation.
- Track student attendance and academic performance to identify students who may need additional support.
- Provide regular reports to the Head of Academics on the status of student progress and any major concerns or challenges.
- **Student Engagement & Retention**:

- Foster strong relationships with students to ensure a supportive and positive learning environment.
- Engage students in academic and extracurricular activities to enhance their learning experience and overall growth.
- Assist with student retention by addressing concerns early and helping students navigate their academic journey.
- **Collaboration**:

- Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure the academic needs of students are being met.
- Work closely with administrative staff to coordinate the registration process, ensure accurate student records, and provide necessary support.
- Organize and assist in orientation programs, workshops, and other academic events.
- **Guidance on Coreframe Elite Bootcamp**:

- Advise students on the Coreframe Elite Bootcamp program, its phases, and requirements.
- Help students prepare for the entrance interviews and ensure they meet eligibility criteria.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- **Educational Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in **Education, Psychology**, or any related field (Master's preferred).
- Knowledge of IT-related programs is an advantage.
- **Experience**:

- Proven experience in academic counseling, student services, or similar roles.
- Strong understanding of educational systems and academic support services.
- Familiarity with IT education and career paths within the technology industry.
- **Skills**:

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and staff.
- Problem-solving abilities to address academic challenges.
- Organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Empathy and a student-centric approach.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with student management systems and learning management systems (LMS).
- Basic understanding of IT tools and technologies would be beneficial.

**Working Conditions**:

- Full-time position with regular working hours (Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM).
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for student events, workshops, or meetings.
