- In this role, the individual will be collaborate developing and implementing the Occupational Health and Safety Management system within the region at both strategic and operational levels. They will monitor and assess health and safety regulations and best practices, supporting compliance efforts across the region. Additionally, they will conduct research on workplace hazards, create guidelines and training resources, and advise business units on hazard control and management. They will also identify non-compliance issues, collaborate with HR and Facilities on wellness and ergonomic concerns, and support global health and safety training, awareness programs, and committees. Further responsibilities include liaising with government agencies, managing KPIs, and developing health and safety communications to enhance awareness.**Responsibilities**:

- Supports the development and implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Management system within the region at a strategic and operational level.
- Monitors, interprets, and assesses existing or emerging health and safety regulations and industry best practices to determine compliance and business impacts and support the implementation as required within the region.
- Conducts research and external surveys to provide relevant information regarding specific workplace hazards; and creates operational guidelines, procedures, and training resources, to mitigate and control the workplace hazard and risk.
- Advises business units on the identification, evaluation, control, and management of identified hazards throughout the organization.
- Identifies and manages issues of non-compliance and escalates information to Sr. Manager.
- Ensure KPIs are met by working to the overall plan, including management of, and reporting.
- Collaborates with HR and Facilities on Wellness and ergonomic issues.
- Supports the delivery of a global approach to health and safety training and awareness.
- Supports OpenText Health and Safety committees.
- Supports internal client groups (i.e.) Facilities, Human Resources, by liaising with government agencies.
- Develops and supports Health and Safety communications to build awareness and understanding of the health and safety program.
- Build new process for Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) for routine and non-routine activities within facilities operations
- Support Industrial hygiene monitoring (such as indoor air quality, lux level, noise at workplace etc ) protocol to comply with HS regulations.
- Communicate emergency response plan program at site level in collaboration with facilities team as per global program.
- Collaborate with facilities team for implementing global Health & Safety programs.
- Collaborate with facilities team on key environmental initiatives as part of net zero commitment
- Educate and train Incident reporting and incident investigation program implementation at site level
- Identify risk and build on mandatory training requirements on health and safety
- Other projects as identified by the Manager

**Qualifications**:
**Basic Skills and Experience**:

- A University/Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety or a related science/engineering discipline.
- Progressive experience in HS is required, with demonstrated knowledge and experience controlling the broad spectrum of risks.
- Must have current working knowledge of appropriate specific Occupational Safety and Health standards, and other non-regulatory safety standards applicable to the location.

- Strong technical skills and the ability to explain complex issues and requirements in an easily understood manner.
- The ability to demonstrate strong business acumen that includes experience working with leaders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in implementing systems to manage OHS operational risks.
- Ability to mentor, influence, and advise local employees to achieve positive OHS outcomes
- The ability to produce and maintain timelines, create dashboards, track metrics, and assemble project information into clearly written repor
