**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct basic and applied research in the field of composite materials and structure
- Experimental Characterization of composite materials
- Finite element analysis skill related to composite materials
- Responsible for the design, analysis, and testing of composites/structural components including conceptual design, detailed design, testing, validation, and product implementation
- Analyze experimental data to develop models and simulations to predict material behavior in real-world aerospace environments
- Work with other support functions and/or external suppliers to meet project deliverables
- Write research proposals, reports, and scientific papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals
- Deliver effective presentations, report and present research findings at conferences and meetings
- Invent and patent when appropriate

**Qualifications**:
MS with minimum 3 years of industrial experience or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field with expert level knowledge in composite materials with following experience
- Demonstrate strong technical skills in solid mechanics, fracture mechanics, mechanical behavior of materials, finite element methods (including advanced meshing tools and non-linear analysis), and failure theories
- Strong background in materials testing and damage mechanisms of composite materials
- Strong analytical and computational skills, including experience with finite element analysis and simulation software
- Execution mindset and sense of urgency.
- Interpersonal, leadership and communication skills in a global team environment.

**Desired Characteristics**:

- Knowledge and experience with materials and manufacturing techniques used in composites
- Strong Knowledge on Composite Materials Testing Standards
- Working knowledge and hands on experience with mechanical testing and characterization tools such as servo-hydraulic test frames, test fixturing, optical microscopes etc.
- Experience with statistical analysis, data analytics, and statistical process control
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced dynamic working environment
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems
- Proficiency in Modeling & simulation software (ANSYS, ABAQUS, MATLAB, CAD, Hypermesh)
- Participate and contribute to decisions and manages conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to take ownership of issues and drive solutions
