- Systems Engineer**

**Responsibilities**:

- Implementing and managing operating system (Linux and Windows) patching processes
- Develop and optimize pre
- and post
- patching processes to ensure proper implementation without any outages.
- Able to work with product vendors to come up with suitable patch recommendations without risking systems.
- **Co-ordinate patching schedule with customers from end to end includes communication, scheduling change windows on regular basis with Project Managers, NOC (Network operations).**:

- Develop and implement patch and vulnerability remediation process including package creation, testing and deployment.
- Automation, scripting of System infrastructure.
- Providing documentation and reports on patching activities.
- Assist in the process for vulnerability and patch management ensuring they are compatible with the company's business needs and strategic objectives.

**Required Skills**:

- **3 + years of hands-on experience in administration of Linux platforms Like RedHat, Oracle Enterprise Linux, and Windows**:

- **Proven customer communication and coordination experience**:

- Automation tools Ansible, puppet, **shell scripting, PowerShell** a must.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, SAN & NAS, DNS, FTP and NFS also with remote access and security.
- Hands on expertise in VMware automation using ansible/python is a plus.
- Expert knowledge in operating systems such as Windows, Linux, etc.
- Familiarity with security issues and best practices for virtual environments.
- The ability to work closely with Business and development and a thorough understanding of the balance between business and patch requirements.
- Proficiency in scripting of OS packaged installation of patches, software, and configuration changes, including power shell automation to improve patch management processes.
- Experience navigating the Microsoft Security Update guide portal and interpreting detailed descriptions of the security vulnerability, exploitability assessment and researching reported issues with deployed patches.
- ManageEngine or similar Windows patching tools architecture, administration for windows system management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; must be able to communicate technical solutions to senior management.
- Familiarity with cloud architectures (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, distributed systems) and approaches to address their unique management and security considerations.

- Demonstrate good communication skills, written and spoken and be capable of presenting technical concepts to audiences of various technical abilities.
- Knowledge of SharePoint, Splunk, Jira, Confluence, BMC Remedy a plus
- Knowledge of public cloud configurations and capabilities (Azure preferred)
- Knowledge of Vulnerability Management platforms (ex: Qualys, Tenable, or Rapid7)
- Certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server) are a plus.

**Education**: Bachelor's degree in related field (Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Computer Information Systems) or equivalent experience.
