Editor Music

Content- Music- Spotify is looking to hire music editor for - Kannada language, In this role you will be part of the Music team in India and work closely with the Head of Editorial of India. You will lead music curation for a language, and will identify and curate music for all moods, music genres, and varied user interests.

- As a music editor, you will be encouraged to make data informed decisions, and bring deep cultural and music insights to craft highly engaging music experiences for listeners.

What you'll do
- Be the language and culture guide and proactively identify music trends and opportunities for Spotify
- Own the music curation and overall strategy for a language, and establish industry wide leadership in it
- Curate and maintain playlists for various moods, moments and occasions
- Work on organisational wide projects, by working closely with the Global Editorial Teams and other cross-functional teams
- Implement standard methodologies from across the company, to build robust process and ensure high efficiency in execution

Who you are
- You have 3-5 years' minimum experience in the music industry, working with a broad range of music content. Experience in programming for music services is preferred
- Having a knowledge of music theory or training in music will be an advantage
- You have a deep understanding of the local film and music industry, with a passion for music. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree would be an advantage
- You are digitally savvy and comfortable with digital technology
- You are numerate and adept at analyzing and interpreting data and using it to set goals
- You are highly organized, detail oriented, with strong time management skills
- You have outstanding communication skills - spoken and written, in English and in at least one of the southern Indian languages
- You are at ease working in a constantly evolving environment, matrix reporting structures and ambiguity does not bother you
- You are an excellent teammate, have a strong work ethic, and a sense of humour
- Location is flexible, ideal location would be in South India.
