restaurant captain's main goal is to ensure that diners receive high-quality service. Their responsibilities include: Guest service Greeting and welcoming guests, answering questions, and explaining menu items. They may also thank guests as they leave, address complaints, and offer recommendations. Food and beverage service Taking orders, preparing and serving food and drinks, and opening bottles of wine. They may also assist with to-go orders. Dining area management Setting and bussing tables, performing buffet set up and breakdown, and keeping the dining area clean and organized. Staff management Training servers, organizing duty rosters, and communicating with support crew and management. Other duties Performing sidework, answering phones, and briefing staff on menu items.
