**Position Overview**:
This position is responsible for setting up and maintaining multiple servers, RDBMS systems and AWS Cloud Technology. It also includes providing day to day DBA support to the development team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure adherence to disaster recovery best practices and guidelines for Cloud Data Solutions; primarily AWS.
- Install, configure, and update 11g, 12c Oracle databases on Linux/Unix servers.
- Monitor databases, backups, perform recovery etc.
- Analyze and maintain performance requirements, help with SQL Tuning.
- Set up and manage Oracle Application Express configurations. (ORDS, Apex Listener)
- Set-up and maintain data replication
- Evaluate and recommend new database technologies
- Monitors and maintains Production, Development and QA databases for issues of storage, performance and operability in Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL RDBMS.
- Provides technical support to users, answering & resolving their requests for data access
- Supports department and user requests for database refreshes and updates
- Troubleshoots problems related to shell scripts or database objects
- Participates in department projects to provide a database perspective and to perform data tasks

Participate in yearly remote disaster recovery testing.
- Provide off hour support to ensure 24/7 uptime requirements Qualification &

**Required Skills**:

- Bachelors in Information Technology. Masters preferred but not required.
- 6+years of experience in a hands-on technical role as a DBA.
- 5+ years of experience working with SQL, PL/SQL, UNIX, Shell Scripting (Korn, Bash), Perl, AWK, SQL*Loader, Datapump, Export/Import, Data Encryption.

3+ years of Experience Managing virtualized environments, including cloud: AWS Required Skills Solid understanding of Oracle databases and AWS.
- Familiarity with Oracle Application Express setup and maintenance.
- Ability to keep current with new technology including Big Data installations.
- Ability to train others in Oracle, SQL Server & MYSQL issues.
- Exposure to maintaining databases in a Cloud environment is a definite plus.
- Experience in Windows and Linux operating systems required.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment with multiple priorities and projects.
- Requires initiative to work when necessary to meet deadlines or when working on high-priority projects.
