Our Global Accounting & Performance team (‘GAP’) provides accounting and performance measurement services to clients across the financial services spectrum, from funds through to separate accounts, where a shadow accounting service is performed, and financial accounting for insurance clients.

**The Role**:
This role is in our Investment Accounting Services (‘AS’) team within GAP, responsible for delivering outsourced financial accounting services to insurance companies who are clients of BlackRock Solutions. Key responsibilities of Accounting Services team include: business development to identify new clients, implementation and project management to onboard new clients and support existing client requests, senior relationship management to maintain effective interaction with clients, development of client metrics, regular communication with clients, oversight of regulatory and accounting pronouncements to ensure compliance, and identification of operational improvements to improve the overall service offering.

**The Role Responsibilities**:

- Management of Client Relationships from an overall accounting perspective
- Build and maintain relationships and communication with key personnel at each client to successfully handle client expectations
- Meet with senior partners to discuss overall relationship, new initiatives, accounting questions and concerns, client relationship targets, etc.
- Conduct regular business reviews to ensure clients are satisfied with the service offering and acquire feedback
- Prepare for and host regular client meetings/relationship reviews; ensure each meeting is detailed and follow-up items addressed
- Develop action plans to address and escalate feedback provided by the client
- Develop strong understanding of assigned clients - including portfolio structure, objectives, and accounting requirements
- Assist clients in various ad-hoc analyses and provide input relating to the treatment and impact of accounting pronouncements and reporting requirements
- Provide clear concise feedback to client requests
- Serve as a liaison between the client and the various BlackRock teams assigned to support the client to ensure excellent client service and client happiness
- Complete administrative tasks relating to clients

- Client invoicing review
- Attend industry related conferences and provide feedback to clients and accounting staff
- Distribute accounting updates, service model improvements, and industry thought leadership topics to clients

**Experience Required**:
The role holder should have experience and proven understanding as it relates to various investment types, accounting and financial reporting across multiple accounting basis (GAAP, STAT, IFRS, etc.) along with a client service focus or mentality.
- BS degree in Finance or Accounting; or related experience
- 4+ years of financial/accounting work experience preferred
- Knowledge of insurance and disclosure reporting
- Familiarity with GAAP/STAT/IFRS financial documents and accounting policies for investments
- Understanding of investments such as fixed income, derivatives, alternatives, mortgage loans, equities, etc.
- Strong and effective communication skills to deal directly with clients and across all levels of staff and management
- Ability to prioritize assignments without losing sight of overall objectives and deadlines and time leadership skills
- Strong decision-making skills to make well thought out decisions based on information provided
- Strong attention to detail and project management skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Solid understanding of Microsoft office products
- Travel to clients as needed
