- Knowledge on Data Governance Drivers: While a Data Governance

Manager Professional should always strive to improve data practices from 2

factors:
1- compliance with external data regulations including GDPR (General Data

Protection Regulations) Sarbanes-Oxley, Basel I, Basel II, HIPAA, etc.

2- value realization of DG effort in terms of business values such capturing

revenue related issues or Customer Experience issues out of lack of data

practices like Data Quality.

Furthermore, a Data Governance Manager should be aware that each

company assesses risks differently. Understanding the guidelines

referenced by COBIT, ISO/IEC, 38500 and others will help you along the

way.
- Data Integration: Data Integration or Enterprise Information Integration

(EII) is the sharing of heterogeneous data sources under a single query

interface. Problems such as duplicating data, semantic integration and

definition errors between databases occur often; the Data Governance

Manager addresses and finds solutions for shared database problems.
- Data Warehousing: While A Data Governance Manager is not a necessarily

a Data Warehouse expert, one should understand the difference between

ETL-based platforms and warehousing constructed from integrated data

source systems.

DAMA certified or equivalent.

Understanding of Data Governance domains (15 domain according to DAMA framework).

Prior contribution in Building Holistic Data Governance (Assessment and framework, Policies

and Technology, DG roadmaps)

Operational familiarity in the use of meta-data management, data quality, and data

stewardship tools and platforms

Experience in the use of data catalogues and data quality technologies

Hands-on operational management and change management.

Proven track record in operating large data governance programs. Knowledge of

Cloud based big data frameworks such as data lake, relational, Graph and other no
- SQL databases
- Experience in managing enterprise data assets in a large, complex organization
Ability to analyse complex situations and to derive workable actions
Ability to constructively challenge requirements and current state to increase overall
value to the firm
Excellent English communication skills
