**_Role Overview:_**

McAfee is seeking a Malware Researcher to work on our Efficacy test lab. In this position, you will work with experienced security researchers to perform malware reverse engineering and behavioral analysis to identify issues with McAfee's Consumer products. You will also be involved in the creation and testing of handcrafted malware samples covering different malware behavior specific to the Consumer threat landscape.
This is a remote position; however you may be required to be onsite at our Bangalore office on as-needed basis.
** About the role**:

- You must have awareness of threats around the globe, regional threats, and top adversaries / criminal groups focusing on malware including affiliate networks pertaining to the Windows OS.
- Provide static and dynamic analysis of malware including - infection, propagation, lateral movement, exploitation POCs, etc.
- Perform malware replication and analyze the malware behavior for accurate reporting.
- Perform false positives analysis on clean samples for different versions of McAfee consumer products.
- Create and test handcrafted samples covering different consumer-specific malware behaviors.

**About You**:

- 1 to 3 years of Security industry experience involving hand-crafting malicious test POCs based on MITRE techniques and tactics, reverse engineering, Dynamic and static analysis, etc.
- Understanding of PE file format.
- Knowledge of Windows OS internals - memory, threads, processes, API, etc.
- Proficiency in debuggers usage (OllyDbg, IDA pro).
- Experience with network traffic analysis tools (Wireshark, Fiddler).
