**Position Overview**:
As an Executive - Microbiology, you will play a crucial role in our microbiology department, contributing to the quality control and assurance processes for our pharmaceutical products. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct microbiological testing and analysis to ensure the safety, efficacy, and compliance of our products with industry standards and regulatory guidelines. Your dedication to maintaining rigorous laboratory practices and adherence to established protocols will be vital to our success in delivering safe and effective medications to our customers.
**Responsibilities**:
- Perform routine microbiological tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished pharmaceutical products following established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct microbial identification, enumeration, and characterization using various techniques, such as plating, microscopy, and molecular methods.
- Ensure the proper handling, storage, and disposal of microbial cultures and hazardous materials according to safety protocols.
- Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration and performing regular maintenance checks.
- Analyze and interpret test results accurately, documenting findings, and maintaining detailed records for future reference.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Quality Control, Production, and Research & Development, to address microbiological concerns and ensure product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Investigate and resolve any microbiological deviations or out-of-specification results, proposing appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Stay current with advancements in microbiological testing methodologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements to implement best practices in the laboratory.
- Participate in the development and validation of new microbiological testing methods and procedures, as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in the microbiology department, optimizing processes, and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Proven experience of 1-6 years working in a microbiology laboratory, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong understanding of microbiological principles, techniques, and methodologies, including aseptic techniques and microbial identification.
- Familiarity with various microbiological testing equipment and instruments.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and guidelines related to microbiology and pharmaceutical manufacturing (e.g., USP, FDA, WHO-GMP).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to convey scientific information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and regulated environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Willingness to contribute to the growth and success of the pharmaceutical industry in Uganda.
**Job Type**: Regular / Permanent
Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
