- Food preparation: Oversees the preparation of food, including portioning, arrangement, and garnish
- Food quality: Ensures the quality of food items and reports any that don't meet specifications
- Kitchen management: Manages the kitchen team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating staff
- Menu planning: Develops menus for seasonal, promotional, and special events
- Sanitation: Maintains sanitation standards in the kitchen and storage areas
- Inventory: Monitors inventory and expiration dates for raw goods
- Training: Develops and implements training plans for food production employees
- Customer service: Addresses guests' service needs
- Safety: Follows all company and safety and security policies and procedures
