**Job Title**: Rig Electrician**Job Summary**:
The Rig Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment on the drilling rig. This includes ensuring that all electrical systems function safely and efficiently while adhering to industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Electrical Maintenance & Repairs**:

- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment on the rig, including generators, motors, lighting systems, control panels, and other electrical components.
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure electrical systems operate efficiently and safely.
- **Safety Compliance**:

- Ensure all electrical installations comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and local laws.
- Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
- **Troubleshooting**:

- Diagnose and fix electrical faults and malfunctions using diagnostic tools and manuals.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues in both high and low-voltage systems.
- **Installation & Upgrades**:

- Install new electrical systems and equipment on the rig, ensuring that wiring, connections, and components are properly installed and meet technical specifications.
- Perform electrical upgrades and modifications to improve system efficiency and capacity as needed.
- **Documentation & Reporting**:

- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Report any issues or concerns to the rig management team to ensure corrective action is taken.
- Maintain an inventory of electrical tools, equipment, and supplies.
- **Team Collaboration**:

- Work closely with other rig personnel, including engineers and technicians, to ensure smooth operations and timely repairs.
- Provide guidance and training to junior electricians or trainees on the rig.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- **Educational Requirements**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in electrical systems is preferred.
- Certification in electrical safety, such as an International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) or equivalent, is highly desirable.
- **Experience**:

- Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in the oil and gas, offshore, or industrial sector.
- Experience with both high-voltage and low-voltage systems is required.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of electrical theory, wiring, schematics, and electrical systems.
- Proficient with electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- **Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to work in challenging offshore environments with long shifts.
- Capability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- **Certifications & Licenses**:

- Relevant electrical certifications, such as a recognized Electrical License or other country-specific qualifications, may be required.
- Offshore survival and medical certifications may be necessary.

**Working Conditions**:

- The role is typically based on offshore rigs, requiring the ability to work in remote and physically demanding environments for extended periods.

Pay: From ₹25,000.00 per month
