**Job Description: Java Developer for IoT Applications**

**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **IoT Application Development**:

- Build middleware and APIs for communication between IoT devices, mobile apps, and cloud systems.
- **IoT Integration**:

- Implement support for IoT protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, AMQP, and HTTP(S).
- Develop secure and efficient data pipelines for device-to-cloud and cloud-to-device communication.
- **Data Management**:

- Work with real-time data streams and implement solutions for data ingestion, storage, and processing.
- Ensure data integrity and scalability for handling large volumes of IoT-generated data.
- **Performance Optimization**:

- Address issues related to concurrency, distributed systems, and resource management.
- **Security**:

- Implement robust security practices, including authentication, encryption, and secure communication for IoT systems.
- Address vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with IoT security standards.
- **Collaboration and Documentation**:

- Collaborate with IoT engineers, frontend developers, and DevOps teams to deliver integrated IoT solutions.
- Write clear documentation for APIs, system architecture, and deployment procedures.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- **Programming Expertise**:

- Proficiency in Java (Java 8+ preferred) and object-oriented programming principles.
- Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, or Micronaut.
- **IoT Protocols and Tools**:

- Knowledge of IoT communication protocols like MQTT, CoAP, and WebSockets.
- Familiarity with IoT platforms (e.g., AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, Google Cloud IoT).
- **Database Management**:

- Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Knowledge of time-series databases (e.g., InfluxDB, TimescaleDB) is a plus.
- **Networking and Systems**:

- Understanding of network programming, TCP/IP, and RESTful web services.
- Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- **Soft Skills**:

- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with edge computing and real-time systems.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and IoT security frameworks.
- Exposure to event-driven architecture and message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Experience in deploying IoT solutions in production environments.
