The NGS Field Application Scientist (FAS) provides technical field support for IDT’s Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) customers regarding product design, customer training and end use. Our FAS team assists Sales to identify, convert and support potential/existing NGS customers. The field team advocates for the voice of customer to collaborate with internal cross-functional teams for future NGS product development.

**In this role, you will have the opportunity to**:
Provide pre
- and post-sales technical support for IDT NGS customers

Support local sales team in technical customer discussions, presentations, and trainings.

Collaborate with Product Management, Applications Support, and Customer Care to identify key customer requirements for future product development efforts.

Work closely with Marketing and Sales to ensure the value of the NGS product line is communicated clearly and effectively to customers.

Maintain strong working relationships within Research, Manufacturing, Marketing, Product Management and Product Development, Customer Support and Sales.

Represent IDT’s NGS products to the molecular biology community at large, including communicating established technologies at industry trade shows.

Stay abreast of the latest trends in the NGS field via literature. The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree (in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biology, Bioinformatics, or related field); Master’s degree or PhD preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experimental design, troubleshooting and wet lab experience.

**3+ years shown experience in the following**:
Expert background in molecular bench techniques (library prep, PCR and target enrichment) including three or more years of experience using Illumina NGS platforms.

NGS Assay Development

Constructing Illumina libraries for NGS

Strong public speaking and presentation experience

**It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in**:
Other sequencing manufacturer library prep techniques (PacBio, Oxford Nanopore, MGI etc).

NGS Bioinformatics, targeted sequencing analysis.
