Job Title: Scaffolding Foreman

Reports To: Scaffolding Supervisor / Site Manager

Job Summary:
The Scaffolding Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of a team of scaffolders, ensuring the safe and efficient erection, alteration, and dismantling of scaffolding on the job site. The role involves direct hands-on supervision, ensuring that all scaffolding work complies with industry standards and safety regulations. The Scaffolding Foreman will also coordinate with other site teams and ensure that all scaffolding tasks are completed on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

- Team Supervision: Lead and manage a team of scaffolders, providing hands-on supervision and guidance to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Scaffolding Operations: Oversee the erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding structures, ensuring they are built to specification and comply with safety standards.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all team members adhere to safety regulations and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while working on scaffolding activities.
- Inspection: Conduct daily inspections of scaffolding to ensure structural integrity, stability, and safety, and take immediate action to rectify any issues.
- Work Coordination: Coordinate with other trades and site management to ensure scaffolding is available as needed for ongoing construction activities, and adjust schedules as required.
- Material Management: Manage the inventory of scaffolding materials, ensuring that all components are properly stored, maintained, and available for use when needed.
- Training and Development: Provide on-the-job training to scaffolders on safe practices, proper use of tools, and techniques for erecting and dismantling scaffolding.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of scaffolding work, including daily logs, inspections, material usage, and any incidents or near misses.
- Problem Solving: Quickly address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise on-site, including adapting scaffolding plans to meet changing project needs.
- Client and Supervisor Liaison: Communicate regularly with the Scaffolding Supervisor and site management to provide updates on progress, challenges, and any required changes to the scaffolding plans.

Qualifications:

- A high school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in scaffolding or construction safety are preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in scaffolding, with at least 2 years in a leadership or foreman role.
- Strong knowledge of scaffolding techniques, materials, and industry safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and scaffolding plans.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights.
- A commitment to safety and the ability to enforce safety standards on the job site.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting, carrying, and moving scaffolding materials.
