**Job Summary**

**Key Responsibilities1. Fatty Acid Production & Refinement**
- Develop and optimize **hydrolysis, distillation, and fractionation** processes for high-purity fatty acids (C8-C22).
- Improve **yield and quality** of fatty acids from **vegetable oils, animal fats, and waste lipids**.
- Scale lab-grade processes to **pilot and industrial production (1,000+ MT/year)**.

**2. Catalytic Conversion & Value-Added Products**
- Design **enzymatic/chemical catalysis** routes for:

- **Fatty acid methyl esters (FAME)** for biodiesel.
- **Hydrogenated fatty alcohols** for surfactants.
- **Estolides** for bio-lubricants.
- Test novel catalysts (e.g., **lipases, solid acids, zeolites**) for **selectivity and reusability**.

**3. Process Sustainability**
- Reduce energy/water use by **20-30%** via **continuous flow reactors** or **membrane separation**.
- Valorize byproducts (glycerol, pitch) into **high-value chemicals**.

**4. Analytical & Quality Control**
- Conduct **GC-MS, FTIR, NMR** to monitor fatty acid profiles.
- Ensure compliance with **ISO/AOCS/ASTM** standards for industrial-grade fatty acids.

**5. Cross-Functional Collaboration**
- Work with **engineering teams** to design cost-effective reactors.
- Partner with **supply chain** to source sustainable feedstocks (e.g., used cooking oil, algae).
- Publish patents/papers in **ACS Sustainable Chemistry, JAOCS**.

**Qualifications**
- **Education**: PhD/MSc in **Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Lipid Science**.
- **Skills**:

- Hands-on experience with **fat splitting, fractional distillation, and esterification**.
- Proficiency in **catalyst characterization (BET, TEM, XRD)**.
- Knowledge of **process simulation tools** (Aspen Plus, SuperPro Designer).
- **Experience**: 3+ years in **oleochemicals, biodiesel, or specialty chemicals**.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
