A restaurant captain, also known as a hotel captain, manages the dining experience in a restaurant. Their responsibilities include:

- **Customer service**: Ensure guest satisfaction and exceptional customer service
- **Staff management**: Train, supervise, and mentor restaurant staff
- **Kitchen coordination**: Coordinate with kitchen staff for smooth operations
- **Inventory**: Maintain food and beverage inventory and order supplies when necessary
- **Restaurant cleanliness**: Maintain a clean and organized restaurant
- **Guest interaction**: Interact with guests to enhance their dining experience
- **Health and safety**: Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations
- **Performance evaluations**: Conduct performance evaluations for restaurant staff
- **Service area**: Ensure the service area is clean and ready for the continuing service throughout the shift
- **Service log**: Maintain the food and beverage service log on a daily basis
- **Billing**: Present guests check and follow all billing procedures

Restaurant captains should have excellent communication and customer service skills, and be able to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations. They should also be knowledgeable about the restaurant's menu and offerings.
