He has built 2 fintech startups before, as a founding member of CapitalFloat and Incred, both pioneering businesses valued >$500Mn The Leap team has a fine balance of industry experience (edtech, fintech, study abroad) and technical skills (engineering, product, design) **Role and Responsibilities**: - Responsibilities include: - Design and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable backend systems using Java and related technologies.- - Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with various third-party services to enable seamless data exchange.Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and adhering to coding standards.- - Write comprehensive unit tests and contribute to automated testing frameworks to ensure code quality and reliability.- - Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments, ensuring the stability of backend systems.- - Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continually enhance your skills and contribute to the team's growth.**Qualifications**: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).- - 3-5 years of proven professional experience as a Backend Developer, with a focus on Java programming.- - Strong understanding of backend development principles, including database design, API development, and server-side architecture.- - Proficiency in Java and related frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot) for building scalable and efficient backend systems.- - Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.- - Familiarity with software testing practices, including unit testing and integration testing.- - Ability to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks and system issues.- - Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards challenges.- - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.**Mutual Respect**: We love people who are ‘relentlessly resourceful’.
