**Job Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Install, splice, and terminate fiber optic cables in various settings including commercial, residential, and industrial environments.
- Perform testing and troubleshooting of fiber optic systems using specialized equipment such as OTDR, power meters, and fusion splicers.
- Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on fiber optic networks to ensure optimal performance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and work orders to determine job specifications and requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members, clients, and contractors to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
- Assist in the planning and design of fiber optic network expansions and upgrades.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in fiber optic technology and industry best practices.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in fiber optics is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Fiber Technician or in a similar role.
- Proficiency with fiber optic testing and splicing equipment.
- Strong understanding of fiber optic networks, components, and installation techniques.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various environments, including outdoors and confined spaces.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may include lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Certifications such as Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) or Fiber Optic Installer (FOI).
- Experience with fiber optic network design and planning.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
