**Role Summary**
As Specialist Engg - **Body Electronics **System you will be responsible for the design, development, Integration and delivery of state-of-the-art electronic body features to current and future road cars.
**Dimension of Function
The Body Electronics systems team is responsible for Body Control Module, Door module, PEPS, Lights, Breaks, TPMS, security systems, ORC. Responsible of design and development of technical specification, test and delivery of all network modules,
The position requires a highly motivated and hands-on team player with an exceptional attention to detail, diligence and a positive attitude. **Area of Responsibility
The Body Electronics team is responsible for the specification, test and delivery of all Body Electronics systems. Responsibilities will include management and direct delivery of body system
- Manage a cross functional global team to collectively deliver all aspects of the body platform on current and future vehicles including
- Develop and co-ordinate detailed system specifications for all Body & Chassis features.
- Maintain current supply base and establish strategic partnerships to enhance technology roadmap
- Responsible for architecture strategy development for next-generation Global Service Delivery Network, Embedded Modem integration,
- Management of multiple stake holders.
- Responsible for developing complex technical specifications at system level and sub-system level.
- Works with cross functional groups to develop interoperability interfaces across sub systems and translate them into sub system level requirements for building state-of-the-art connected vehicle systems architecture.
- Provide guidance and inputs for feature design verification plans working with requirements engineering teams.
- Responsible for managing technical requirements to multiple sub systems and provide guidance on system design and technologies.
- Responsible for Supplier Management for HW and SW release as per the vehicle timeline.
- Responsible to perform root cause analysis on issues identified during validation and vehicle builds
- Manage a core engineering test team to ensure robust delivery of all systems and integration sign-off
- Manage and execute testing of all software deliveries including overseeing development of all test facilities necessary to validate the full suite of vehicle electronics features
- Take responsibility for resolving issues on current production and development vehicles.
- Report on current activities, software status and issues at all levels of the business including executive reporting.
- Test customer road cars with the latest features and content before release.
- Develop and co-ordinate DVP plans for all areas associated with the Body Electronics commodities.
- Lead all aspects of the future technology roadmap including; technology planning, research activities and business case generation
**Knowledge / Experience - 8-10 Years**
- Strong technical project management with proven evidence of decision making and accountability is essential. It is core to the success of our business that these primary roles have the required level of leadership and motivation to succeed;
- Previous experience of OEM or tier one automotive system management utilising all of the key attributes, with a demonstrable record of delivery of the accountabilities.
- Good commercial awareness to maintain a focus on cost, profit, quality and risk.
- A strong track record of delivering designs to timing, weight and cost targets.
- Supplier management, comfortable with understanding and implementing DFM requirements within the project scope.
- Background in low volume, high performance sports or racing cars preferred.
- Documentation of Technical Specifications, DFMEA, DVP, Timing Plans, Minutes and Actions of Meetings.
- Experience in Automotive protocol: CAN, UDS, OBD-2, LIN.
- Knowledge of process models (e.g. Automotive SPICE), regarding verification, validation and integration process areas
- Project Planning/Estimation and Resource management skills - JIRA/ MS Project
- Experience in Bench Level, Labcar and Vehicle system Testing
Added advantage in Android or Linux based IVI system testing.
- Experience in project management and defect logging tools.
- Ability to interface With QA Lead Regarding Release Schedules, Training, Testing Schedule Assistance, & Review Test Cases (soft skills are key)
- Able to perform Rapid Root Cause Analysis (RCA) & Troubleshooting of Issues
