- Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited university required. Professional Engineer desired with 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong background in electrical/power fundamentals.
- Switchgear selection & EBOM preparation.
- Calculations for Electrical load, Heat load (Cooling requirement), CPT (control transformer), DC power supply, Busbar etc.
- Knowledge of industry standards (IEC, UL, CSA, NEMA etc.) and design to applicable safety standards (UL 508, 61010, etc.).
- Experience with low and/or medium voltage design products.
- Preparation of power & control cable schedule as per UL 508A standard.
- System architecture (good knowledge of VFD & communication protocols).
- Preparing FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) document.
- Support for rapid prototyping and testing.
- Understanding control system and instrumentation.
- Knowledge of magnetics very helpful.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to design for component placement and cable routing to comply with requirements in packaged solutions.
