The lead data architect role within the Research & Development (R&D) team is responsible for working with the VP of R&D to execute the defined strategy for Optiv’s market-facing offerings. This involves continuing theinnovation, development, and operations of Optiv’s data platform. The data platform supports over 20 Optiv services today and will support all Security as a Service offerings.

**How you’ll make an impact**:

- Support the business through continuous data improvements that lead to enhanced data quality, interoperability, and portability
- Analyze current and future state requirements to maintain architecture and implementation roadmapsthat depictour path to the future state design
- Execute on data initiatives that align to our core business strategy

**What you will do in this role**:

- Develop enterprise-level data architecture, data strategy, and implementation plans
- Design integrations with data warehouses and advanced data analytics platforms
- Support data governance, data improvement, and digital transformation initiatives
- Responsible for data integration, data management, metadata management, and data quality
- Deliver comprehensive best practice designs that will support data requirements
- Define project scope and estimate level of effort
- Track project activities and provide status updates
- Manage the project timeline, stakeholder expectations, and deliverables
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget

**Qualifications for success**:

- Bachelor's Degree required; degree with a concentration in computer science, data engineering and architecture, information systems,or related areas preferred
- 7+ years of experience working on solutions that collect, process, store, and analyze large volumes of business and/or security data
- 5+ years of experience managing small to medium project teams
- Demonstrated experience with technology providers such as: Databricks, Snowflake, the Elastic product suite, ETL tools, and message queuing systems
- Exposure to tools used to support data management, metadata management, data profiling, and data quality
- Strong proficiency in relational database management systems, SQL, and NoSQL databases
- Strong proficiency in Python, Spark, or PySpark
- Experience with cloud and hybrid implementations including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
- Knowledge and experience working with Agile/SCRUM
- Understanding of common cybersecurity frameworks, taxonomies, and basic elements of InfoSec and cybersecurity
