**The team you’ll be part of**

Our Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).

Nokia is a leader in vRAN solution working towards O-RAN compliant solutions. The Cloud RAN architecture team works on E2E cloud RAN solution definition as well as on the detailed architecture specifications of CU and DU network components. We work on CU/vDU CNF architecture for service resilience, scalability, lifecycle management, networking connectivity, capacity, and performance. On E2E level we work on radio site solutions, O-RAN compliance esp. on the fronthaul, HW/data center solution, slicing etc.

**Are you passionate about solving problems?**
**As part of our team, you will**:

- be an Individual contributor working on 5G Cloud RAN system architecture and feasibility studies on forward looking topics
- Work on vCU/vDU architecture evolution towards better scalability, observability, and programmability
- Work involves both Cloud RAN system level and vDU (virtualized DU) / vCU CNF architecture
- Work on end-to-end cloud RAN lifecycle management and automation solution including software management (e.g., in-service rolling upgrades), cloud infrastructure management aspects (HW and SW infra)
- Work on deployment of Cloud RAN on webscalers like Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, AWS, IBM ROKS and others.

**Your skills and experience**
- Background on LTE/5G RAN - concepts of network architecture and radio protocols/procedures
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Dockers/CRI-O containers, Helm, either as SW developer or in solution architecture or integration role
- experience on public/private cloud environments like Redhat OpenShift, IBM ROKS, Google GCP, Microsoft Azure/AODS etc.
- Good learnability, flexibility (in taking tasks), super collaborator
- Innovative and dare to take (intelligent) risks - the Cloud RAN & O-RAN concepts are still in developing stage and few things need to be invented and tried, no easy ready-made fit-all solutions
- The role requires to collaborate with global virtual teams (US/ EU and China TZ)
- clear & concise communication is important
