**Job Summary**
The Purchase Executive is responsible for managing procurement activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality raw materials, packaging, and other goods required for production and operations at Best Mummy Sweets and Cakes. This role involves maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring inventory levels align with production demands.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Procurement Planning**:
- Develop and execute procurement plans based on production forecasts and sales trends.
- Ensure the availability of raw materials, packaging materials, and other operational necessities.
- **Vendor Management**:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to meet quality and cost requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors to ensure consistent supply and service.
- Negotiate prices, contracts, and payment terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
- **Inventory Coordination**:
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the inventory team to avoid overstocking or shortages.
- Work with the stores team to ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and quality checks.
- **Quality Assurance**:
- Ensure all procured items meet company quality standards and specifications.
- Address any quality issues with suppliers promptly.
- **Data Management and Reporting**:
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and vendor contracts.
- Provide regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and inventory health.
- **Market Research**:
- Keep track of market trends, price fluctuations, and new product developments.
- Identify opportunities for alternative suppliers or cost-effective solutions.
- **Compliance**:
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, government regulations, and food safety standards.
- Work closely with the production and quality assurance teams to maintain compliance with FSSAI or relevant regulations.
- **Operational Coordination**:
- Collaborate with production and R&D teams for custom ingredient requirements or new product launches.
- Coordinate with the dispatch team to ensure packaging availability for timely order fulfillment.
**Key Skills and Competencies**
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, especially in the food and bakery industry.
- Familiarity with raw materials like flours, sugars, oils, dairy products, and packaging supplies.
- Proficiency in MS Office and inventory management software.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the food or bakery industry.
- Familiarity with food safety and quality standards (e.g., FSSAI).
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Tally) is an added advantage.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
