Accounts Assistant

An accounts assistant's job is to provide administrative and accounting support to an organization's accounting or finance team
- Using accounting software to track money coming in and out of the organization
- **Processing payments and receivables**: Issuing and receiving payments, and updating records
- **Preparing invoices**: Creating itemized invoices for customers, and ensuring they are accurate
- **Contributing to financial statements**: Compiling data and checking it against internal records
- **Quality control**: Reviewing financial data to ensure it is accurate and up to date
- **Communicating with clients**: Understanding clients' financial needs and reporting that information to the accounting team
- **Scheduling appointments**: Scheduling client appointments and managing deadlines
- **Maintaining records**: Maintaining customer records and creating new customer accounts
- **Reconciling bank accounts**: Completing daily and monthly bank reconciliations
Accounts assistants typically need to be detail-oriented, organized, and have strong communication skills. They may also need to be proficient in digital office tools. The duties of an accounts assistant can vary depending on the industry and the size of the company.
