**Job Summary**:
The School Psychological Counsellor is responsible for supporting the mental, emotional, and social well-being of students. The counsellor works collaboratively with teachers, parents, and administrators to address students' psychological needs and help them achieve academic and personal success in a safe, supportive school environment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide individual and group counselling to students facing emotional, behavioral, academic, or social difficulties.
- Identify and assess students' concerns through observation, interaction, and assessment tools.
- Develop coping strategies and action plans in collaboration with students, parents, and staff.
- Conduct regular sessions on stress management, exam anxiety, self-esteem, bullying prevention, and emotional intelligence.
- Support students with special needs, learning difficulties, or adjustment issues.
- Collaborate with teachers to identify students needing intervention and provide guidance on classroom strategies.
- Organize workshops and awareness programs for students, teachers, and parents on topics related to mental health and well-being.
- Maintain confidentiality of all student records and counselling sessions, adhering to ethical guidelines.
- Refer students to external psychologists, psychiatrists, or specialists when necessary.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings when required, offering professional insights and guidance.
- Maintain documentation of counselling sessions and submit periodic reports to the school management.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Master’s degree in Psychology / Clinical Psychology / Counselling Psychology.
- Professional certification or training in child/adolescent counselling is highly desirable.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in school or child counselling.
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, behavior, and educational challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy, patience, and discretion.
- Knowledge of common psychological issues in school-age children, including anxiety, ADHD, peer pressure, and trauma.
**Preferred Attributes**:
- Experience with inclusive education or working with students with special educational needs (SEN).
- Familiarity with school safety policies and child protection protocols.
- Ability to conduct group workshops and interactive activities.
- Multilingual ability is a plus.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
