Job Summary:
A footwear merchandiser is responsible for managing the buying and selling of footwear products within a retail environment. Their primary goal is to ensure that the right products are available at the right time and in the right quantities to meet consumer demand and maximize sales. Here are some key responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the role of a footwear merchandiser:

- **Market Analysis**: Conducting market research and trend analysis to understand consumer preferences, market trends, and competitor activities in the footwear industry.
- **Assortment Planning**: Collaborating with buyers and product development teams to curate a diverse and appealing assortment of footwear products that align with consumer preferences and market trends.
- **Inventory Management**: Monitoring inventory levels, analyzing sales data, and forecasting demand to optimize stock levels and minimize excess inventory or stockouts.
- **Pricing Strategy**: Developing pricing strategies based on market trends, product costs, and competitor pricing to maximize profitability while remaining competitive in the market.
- **Visual Merchandising**: Working with visual merchandisers to create attractive displays and product placements that enhance the presentation of footwear products and drive sales.
- **Promotions and Marketing**: Planning and executing promotional campaigns, sales events, and marketing initiatives to drive foot traffic and increase sales of footwear products.
- **Vendor Management**: Building and maintaining relationships with footwear suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of products, negotiate favorable terms, and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- **Sales Analysis and Reporting**: Analyzing sales performance, market trends, and consumer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and make data-driven decisions to optimize sales and profitability.
- **Product Development**: Collaborating with product development teams to provide input on product design, features, and specifications based on market insights and consumer feedback.
- **Customer Service**: Providing excellent customer service by assisting customers with product inquiries, offering recommendations, and addressing any concerns or complaints related to footwear products.
