We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commodity Trader with specialized technical knowledge in base metals, including zinc, aluminum, and non-ferrous metals. As a Commodity Trader focusing on base metals, you will be responsible for executing trades, analyzing market trends, and managing risk associated with the trading of these commodities.

**Responsibilities**:
**Market Analysis**:

- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of global base metal markets, including supply and demand dynamics, pricing trends, geopolitical factors, and macroeconomic indicators.

**Trading Strategy Development**:

- Develop and implement effective trading strategies tailored to capitalize on opportunities within the base metals sector.
- Utilize technical analysis, quantitative modelling, and risk management techniques to optimize trading performance.

**Trading Execution**:

- Execute buy and sell orders for base metal commodities on various trading platforms, ensuring timely and accurate execution while maximizing profitability and minimizing risk.

**Risk Management**:

- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate exposure to price volatility, currency fluctuations, and other market risks associated with base metal trading.

**Relationship Management**:

- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and counterparties in the base metal industry, negotiating favorable terms and agreements to support trading activities.

**Technical Expertise**:

- Utilize specialized technical knowledge of base metal production processes, quality specifications, and industry standards to assess the quality and value of commodities and make informed trading decisions.

**Compliance and Regulation**:

- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards governing the trading of base metals, including trade reporting requirements, anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, and market integrity rules.

**Performance Monitoring**:

- Monitor the performance of base metal trades and portfolios, analyzing key performance metrics and adjusting trading strategies as needed to achieve financial targets and objectives.

**Continuous Learning**:

- Stay informed about developments in the base metal industry, including technological advancements, regulatory changes, and emerging market trends, to maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, master's) or professional certification (e.g., Chartered Financial Analyst, Financial Risk Management) preferred.
- Proven experience as a Commodity Trader specializing in base metals, with a demonstrated track record of success in trading and risk management.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and market information to make strategic trading decisions.
- Good Personality with excellent communication both verbal and written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships (both and Global) and negotiate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in financial modelling, trading software, and data analysis tools commonly used in commodity trading.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to commodity trading, including risk management and compliance.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing market conditions.
- Sound judgment, decision-making ability, and resilience in high-pressure trading environments.
- Excellent understanding of supply chain dynamics, production processes, and pricing mechanisms within the base metals industry.
- Professional certification (e.g., Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Commodity Analyst) a plus.
