An electrical control panel wiring job involves assembling, wiring, and testing electrical control panels:

- Assembling and wiring: Using hand and power tools, assemble and wire electrical control panels, including industrial motor control panels. This may involve cutting, stripping, bending, and mounting wires.
- Reading blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to identify components and recognize wiring processes.
- Testing: Use test equipment to identify and correct malfunctioning components and ensure circuits are continuous.
- Following safety standards: Follow electrical codes, best practices, and safety laws.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot problems and identify defective units.
- Maintaining a clean work environment: Keep the work environment neat and maintain adequate stock.
- Working with others: Work closely with engineering staff and CAD to complete projects on schedule.
