Cath Lab Technician

The Cath Lab Technician is responsible for assisting physicians during cardiac catheterization procedures, including angioplasty, stent placement, and other interventional procedures. The technician prepares patients, operates specialized imaging and diagnostic equipment, monitors patient vitals, and ensures a sterile and safe environment throughout the procedure.
- Assist cardiologists in diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cath lab (e.g., coronary angiography, PCI, electrophysiology studies).
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy and x-ray machines.
- Monitor and record patient vitals, ECG, and hemodynamic data during procedures.
- Scrub in and assist with sterile procedures, including catheter insertions and device deployments.
- Prepare and position patients appropriately before procedures.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols and infection control standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation and procedural records.
- Stock and maintain cath lab supplies and ensure equipment is properly cleaned and sterilized.
- Respond quickly to emergency situations such as cardiac arrest or adverse patient reactions.
- Participate in on-call rotations and assist with emergency procedures as needed.
