Experience: 5-7 Years

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Provision MySQL instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations
- Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases
- Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
- Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
- Prepare documentation and specifications
- Defining and implementing event triggers that will alert on potential database performance or integrity issues
- Performing database housekeeping, such as tuning, indexing, etc
- Monitoring usage, transaction volumes, response times, concurrency levels, etc.
- Identifying reporting, and managing database security issues, audit trails, and forensics
- Designing database backup, archiving, and storage strategy
- Configuring the parameter group and Managing IP traffic using a security group on AWS
- Perform maintenance and management activities and audit the database log files
- Planning backup and recovery strategies and monitoring the database
- Database Migration (One account/Region to another Account/Region)
- Database upgrade strategy with minimum downtime

**Skills & Competencies**:

- At least 5 years’ rich experience as a DBA
- Managing SQL and NoSQL databases Monitor the system's health and performance
- Excellent experience with MY SQL Server Administration experience required
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO)
- Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
- Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security
- Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time
- Development of high-quality database solutions
- Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures and functions using T-SQL
- Review and interpret ongoing business report requirements and build appropriate and useful reporting deliverables
- Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements
- Develop procedures and scripts for data migration
- Provide timely scheduled management reporting
- Excellent AWS experience is required

**Good to have**:

- 3 years RDS experience a bonus
- Experience working with DynamoDB or SimpleDB
- MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications
- AWS certification
- DevOps Experience
