**The Role**

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients - which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

- This includes tablespace migration, database tuning, issue resolution, disaster recovery (DR) participation, and database synchronization.
- Performed by technical professionals responsible for the physical and technical aspects of a database systems.
- Set up and maintain DB2 subsystems, data sharing groups, and buffer pools.
- Monitor and manage tablespaces, indexes, partitions, and storage allocation.
- Tune DB2 memory structures, buffer pools, and access paths for efficiency.
- Diagnose and resolve DB2 performance issues, locking conflicts, and deadlocks.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 10+ years of experience as a DB2 DBA on mainframe (z/OS) environments.
- Strong understanding of tablespace migration, memory management, and database tuning.
- Experience in buffer pool tuning, registry variable optimization, and system parameter adjustments.
- Hands-on experience with DB2 snapshots, database statistics gathering, and RCA processes.
- Expertise in high availability and DR synchronization for DB2 environments.
- Synchronize primary and HADR (High Availability Disaster Recovery) databases to maintain data consistency and uptime.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring database issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration with development, infrastructure, and business teams.
