Education Counselor cum Admin. Job Description (with Duties and Skills)

Education counselor plays an advisory role, guiding students who are making important decisions about their futures.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's or associate's degree in counseling. Preferred in Fashion & Interior Design.
- Minimum of 2 years professional counseling experience, preferably in an educational field.
- Knowledge of placement testing and career, personal, and educational assessment.
- Experience with counseling principles, techniques, and practices as applied to students' problems and developmental needs.
- Excellent active listening and communication skills.
- Patient, friendly, and accommodating personality.
- Social perceptiveness and an understanding of body language.
- Excellent interpersonal and mediation skills.
- Full time Office Position.

**Responsibilities**:

- Listening to students' academic, emotional, social, and behavioral concerns in an open and nonjudgmental way.
- Working directly with students to develop solutions and set achievable goals.
- Assisting with conflict mediation and resolution between students, students and teachers, or parents and teachers to ensure students' goals are not disrupted.
- Providing one-on-one career guidance and skills assessment to assist with career development.
- Providing students with materials related to a career of their choice or career counseling to suit their skills.
- Developing, monitoring, and assisting with counseling programs.
- Offering referrals to outside resources, such as for mental health, substance abuse, or vocational-related activities.

Help students to devise attainable goals and develop useful skills or habits.
- Administer assessments to gauge students' capabilities, personality traits and interests.
- Evaluate students on their competencies, interests and ambitions to identify suitable academic and professional pathways.
- Assist in preparatory activities, such as academic scheduling and course selection.
- Inform students about their academic and professional options, including but not limited to courses, majors and programs that may facilitate their goals
- Consult with parents, teachers and administrators to identify potential learning or behavioral issues that may impede students' goals
- Collaborate with parents, teachers and administrators to develop plans for realizing students' educational and professional goals
- Inform students and their families about resources that may help with realizing academic and career goals, such as tutoring, mentoring and career exploration
- Maintain confidential records about the students they assist, including assessment results, transcripts and session notes.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
