Cashier

Job Title: Cashier (Jewellery Segment)

Key Responsibilities:

- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle payments by cash, credit, debit, or other forms of payment, ensuring correct change and receipts.
- Ensure accuracy of sales data and store transactions.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the cashier area.
- Issue refunds, exchanges, or store credits as needed, following company policies.
- Balance the cash register at the start and end of each shift, ensuring that cash and payment records match.
- Handle and process jewellery returns and exchanges with attention to detail and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure security procedures are followed when handling cash, high-value items, and customer information.
- Assist with packaging and preparing purchased jewellery for customers.
- Perform inventory checks and alert the store manager to low stock or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including those for safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a retail environment, preferably in a jewellery or luxury goods setting.
- Strong math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Basic knowledge of jewellery types, materials, and value is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Previous experience with POS systems and cash handling.
