iLO Security Expert

This role has been designated as ‘Edge’, which means you will primarily work outside of an HPE office.

**Job Family Definition**:
Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs and modifies firmware (e.g., DSP, embedded code, BIOS). Work often involves analog and digital hardware and real-time operating systems. Position requires knowledge and exposure to hardware design. Typically programs in machine language, assembly language and high-level languages (e.g., C, C++).

**Management Level Definition**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Working on Design and development of new security features for iLO Manageability Firmware
- Working on investigations on new features for the next generation products in order to continue the market differentiation
- Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on firmware design and development
- Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with systems design and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product security, quality and mitigate failure risk
- Be engaged in talking to major customers, analyze industry trends, and competitive studies to define roadmap and bring value to the product
- Engage with the CTO office and other architects in the Server business to prioritize and take forward any new ideas or features
- Provides domain-specific expertise and overall firmware leadership and perspective to cross
- organization projects, programs, and activities
- Focus on developing/mentoring less
- experienced staff members

**Education and Experience Required**:

- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Typically, 12+ years of engineering experience

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Strong programming experience in C and C++
- Strong understanding of the Server manageability domain in specific and Server Industry in General
- Strong working knowledge of Linux - device drivers development, Inter-process communication, interrupt and exception handling, dynamic memory handling
- Experience working with multi-core ARM processors or similar system controllers
- Good knowledge and hands on experience of security protocols such as TLS, SSH
- Very strong knowledge of PKI, and various crypto algorithms such as AES, RSA, ECDSA, SHA
- Working knowledge of debugging tools like gdb, kdb, JTAG debuggers
- Exceptional troubleshooting and debugging capability
- Good understanding of the LDAP, Kerberos, Single Sign On
- Good working knowledge of PCIe, I2C, USB, Serial (RS232 & RS 485)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to self-learn
- Ability to work in a team oriented, collaborative environment
- Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Experience with agile development practices
- Working knowledge of industry standards like Redfish, PLDM, IPMI will be an added advantage
