**Job Description: Staff Nurse**

**Position Overview**:
A staff nurse plays a crucial role in the healthcare system by providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in various healthcare setup. They work under the supervision of senior nurses and healthcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and promoting overall well-being.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Provide patient care, including assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and implementing nursing interventions.

Monitor patients' conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment, and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided.

Administer medications, including injections, oral medications, and intravenous therapy, while adhering to established protocols and ensuring patient safety.

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement holistic care plans.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, nursing assessments, and care plans, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care techniques, promoting health literacy and empowering patients to participate in their care.

Adhere to infection control protocols, maintain a clean and safe environment, and implement preventive measures to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections.

Respond effectively to medical emergencies, following established protocols, and provide immediate nursing interventions to stabilize patients.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, such as audits and outcome evaluations, to enhance patient care and promote continuous quality improvement within the healthcare facility.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:
Education: Possess a valid nursing degree (GMN / BSc Nursing Passed) from an accredited nursing program.

Licensure: Hold a current, unrestricted nursing registration (KNC).

Clinical Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in various nursing skills, including assessment, medication administration, wound care, and emergency response.

Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Ethical Practice: Uphold professional ethics and standards, ensuring confidentiality, respect for patient autonomy, and adherence to nursing codes of conduct.

Technology Skills: Possess basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health record systems and other healthcare technologies used for documentation and communication.
