Position: Market Intelligence Associate

Key Role

Supports delivery of market and competitive intelligence projects and other strategic initiatives for the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG)

Plays an active role in building a strong team and improving the knowledge culture environment and culture

Summary & Position Overview: Nature of Work

Market and competitive intelligence (based on publicly available information) of major competitors and global activities in customer segments. The analyst is expected to curate and analyze news and information of these constituencies and incorporate them into artifacts intended for distribution to senior management in the business

Carry out complex research and analysis in support of business strategy, partnership, acquisition pipeline, strategic planning, and key sales and account management priorities

Closely monitor the markets to identify and evaluate emerging trends/practices/ technologies being offered by competing firms/clients in this space, and build a fact-base to assist with the company’s investment prioritization

Build domain knowledge of global financial markets - the Analyst will have to interpret, analyze and put into context, information with respect to the businesses of London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG)

Precise, cogent and meaningful communication of analysis into artifacts, both recurring and one-off

Essential Day To Day Responsibilities: Expected Deliverables

Track the key competitors and clients of London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) on an ongoing basis

Build out a fact-base of industry trends and KPIs to drive investment prioritization decisions

Update the stakeholders within the company on the broader trends in the marketplace on a periodic basis

Skill-sets requirement

Exposure to global financial services industry terminology

Understanding of market research methodologies

High degree of adaptability and result oriented approach

Ability to work in a global context

Excellent written communication skills

Technical skills required

Analysts from market intelligence or strategy teams

Research Analysts from exchanges or market data firms

Sector/Industry Research Analysts at reputed buy-side or sell-side institutions

Subject Matter Experts at a KPO working in Market Intelligence domain or supporting research for an established buy/sell side institution

Sector/ Industry Research Analysts at Credit Rating Agencies

Columnists working for leading Financial publications with exposure to analysis of news, events and financial performance

Analysts working with a corporation in a role that entails industry analysis & scanning, competitor profiling, working on alliances/acquisition (either independently or in a team that works with investment bankers)

Analysts with an Investment Bank/PE firm

Education and Necessary Industry Experience:
MBA with 1-2 years of relevant experience in research roles post MBA

Bachelors in economics, business management, with 2-3 years of relevant experience in financial services domain
