An account executive's job is to manage the relationship between a company and its clients, and to drive sales. Their responsibilities include:
- **Building relationships **Account executives build and maintain relationships with clients, understanding their needs and challenges. They also identify and reach out to potential clients.
- **Customer service **Account executives provide customer service and support, helping clients with their queries and providing technical support. They may also organize regular client meetings.
- **Business planning **Account executives create business plans, develop budgets and timelines, and collaborate with internal teams to address client concerns.
- **Sales records **Account executives maintain sales records, including customer interactions and account information.
- **Market trends **Account executives monitor market trends, competition, and industry developments to identify business opportunities.
Account executives may also be known as account handlers. To become an account executive, you may need a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, as well as knowledge of accounting software.
