Introduction:
The purpose of this role within Fraud Transaction Cycle (FTC) - Fraud Analytics, is the provision of data driven analytics for the management of Fraud decision strategy, to maximise the performance of Fraud risk systems, toolkits and associated data and processes to contribute directly to the proactive detection of fraud and the reduction of fraud losses while minimising impact to our genuine customers and their transactions.
What will you be doing?
- Ensure effective score and rule performance management for fraud detection tools ensuring optimal False Positive rates and Key Performance Indicators such as alert volume SLAs, Victims of fraud, Fraud Losses are set and achieved.
- Take on a segment specialism e.g. Digital/First Party/Debit/Credit etc. and for that segment take responsibility for monitoring performance and driving change. Act as an expert within the Fraud Risk Management team for that segment.
- Undertake analytical research and data acquisition with the aim of creating strategically important new ‘future state’ Fraud risk management and decision capability
- Structuring and executing research and analysis into performance of existing strategies whilst ensuring that strategy aligns with Fraud Risk Appetite and keeping stakeholders across all disciplines and functions appropriately informed and updated.
- Help ensure regular delivery of standardized MI Pack to agreed stakeholders and review of analytical deliveries & ad-hoc requests and their completeness from quality, timeline and usability
- Drive Initiatives to improve and automate processes to minimize errors and reduce effort
- Regular Monitoring of Fraud trends to proactively identify opportunities to revise and enhance on-going strategy or device new one to prevent fraud and reduce genuine customer impact
- Close liaison with Portfolio analytics and Strategy team stakeholders and to ensure rule / system monitoring is optimal and formulate the requirement for new performance monitoring if required
- Comply and enforce Fraud risk governance framework, change management requirements, EUDA and process review requirements
What we’re looking for:
- Outstanding analytical skills and critical thinking to digest and interpret complex concepts underpinning portfolio modelling and analytics.
- Exceptional technical skill, highly proficient SAS/SQL, excel skills
- Data extraction and manipulation skills and understanding of data issues to prepare and validate analysis
- Practical experience of using analytics to solve complex business problems.
- Advanced statistical understanding, ideally working knowledge of statistical modelling, neural networks and Machine Learning models
- High level communication and persuasion skills with the ability to think quickly and package ideas and results in a logical, understandable and compelling way to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A range of interpersonal skills including innovation, determination and teamwork
- Educational Qualification: Graduate in Mathematics/Statistics/Economics/B. Tech/BE
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Knowledge of Fraud detection model and rule strategy optimisation in Retail Banking, Credit Cards; in particular using Tsys, Falcon, Instinct, RSA solutions
- Practical experience of key data analysis techniques; CHAID/CART, Regression, Score Card and Clustering
- Working knowledge of BIG Data (Hive, Impala etc.) and Machine learning techniques (Random forest, SVM etc.)
- Masters in Mathematics/Statistics/Economics
