**The Role**:
**Where you fit**

The Seismic Analytics team in Bangalore is part of the Inversion and Imaging R&D group that sits within the global Geophysics East organization. As part of the team, you will be involved in discovery, development, demonstration, and deployment of new and innovative solutions to seismic imaging aided by machine learning solutions.. The current research focus is on accelerated imaging through deep learning techniques, high resolution seismic imaging for subsurface characterization, passive seismic interferometry and micro-seismic imaging for carbon sequestration (CCS). All this research is to help Shell's Upstream business in finding and developing hydrocarbons in complex geologic settings and support energy transition efforts.

**What’s the role?**

As Researcher
- Imaging Technology, you will support Shell's in-house seismic technology overall development. Your further responsibilities include the following:

- Proposing and implementing novel technology solutions and testing newly developed technology on seismic data.
- Building a closer integration with the end users as well as the global technology organization.
- Supporting Shell’s hydrocarbon E&P and transition business worldwide by showing us you have the skillset and aptitude to be able to develop, test and deploy efficient algorithms.
- Working closely with the R&D teams in Amsterdam and Houston and will be guided by senior and principal experts in Netherlands and Bangalore.

Lastly, you will be on a hybrid work schedule with two days a week from the Bangalore office and the rest from a remote location.

**What We Need from You**
- MS or PhD. in Physical Sciences or Engineering (i.e. Mathematics, Physics, Geophysics, and other relevant fields,
- Has 2-8 years of experience working in R&D
- Good understanding of inverse theory, numerical methods, PDEs is a big plus
- Experience with deep learning techniques and frameworks is desirable.
- Good scripting and programing skills in languages such as C, Python, Julia etc.
- Established ability to integrate within and across disciplines, to innovate and drive quality and excellence.
- Good communication and collaboration skills and be able to interface with staff of diverse backgrounds. Virtual working skills are essential.
- Passionate about coaching and proactively assisting teams in meeting business goals and objectives.
- Project and time management skills - is able to manage own time and to manage projects under cost and timeline constraints.
- Technically savvy person who likes to learn and share knowledge, keeps up to date with the advancements in their field of work
- Able to build effective relationships and focus on quality and delivery.
