**Position Title**: Academic Counselor
**Position Summary**:
The Academic Counselor plays a key role in providing academic support, guidance, and counseling to students. This position involves assisting students with academic planning, course selection, goal setting, and addressing challenges that may impact academic success. The Academic Counselor works closely with students to help them navigate their educational journey, improve their academic performance, and achieve their long-term academic and career goals.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Academic Advising**:

- Provide one-on-one academic counseling sessions to students to discuss academic progress, course selection, and degree planning.
- Assist students in setting realistic academic and career goals.
- Guide students in course registration, understanding degree requirements, and developing strategies to meet graduation requirements.
- Monitor student progress toward academic goals, reviewing transcripts, grades, and academic performance.
- **Student Support**:

- Offer counseling services to students experiencing academic difficulties or personal challenges affecting academic performance.
- Help students navigate institutional resources (tutoring, writing centers, workshops, etc.).
- Develop and recommend strategies for improving study habits, time management, and test-taking skills.
- Work with faculty, staff, and parents as needed to support student success.
- **Student Retention**:

- Identify students at risk of academic failure and develop intervention strategies.
- Coordinate with campus resources to support at-risk students, including academic workshops and support groups.
- Provide resources for students with disabilities, ensuring accommodations and support systems are in place.
- **Career Development**:

- Help students align their academic experiences with their career goals by providing career counseling and resources.
- Guide students on internship opportunities, job shadowing, and other career-related activities.
- **Workshops and Outreach**:

- Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, or orientations to provide students with essential academic skills (e.g., study skills, time management, goal setting).
- Conduct outreach to students, encouraging participation in academic programs and supporting initiatives to enhance academic success.
- **Collaboration and Reporting**:

- Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and other support staff to address students' academic needs and concerns.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of academic counseling programs.
- **Professional Development**:

- Stay up-to-date on academic policies, student development trends, and counseling techniques.
- Participate in relevant professional development opportunities, conferences, and workshops.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**:

- Bachelor's /Master's degree in Counseling, Education or a related field
- **Experience**:

- Experience in academic advising, counseling, or student services, preferably in a higher education setting.
- Strong understanding of academic policies, student development, and academic support programs.
- **Skills and Abilities**:

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with a diverse student body.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Sensitivity to issues of student diversity and inclusion.
- Proficient in the use of counseling software, student databases, and office software (e.g., MS Office, Google Suite).

**Salary**:

- 20000-25000
- Incentives

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Fixed shift
- Weekend availability
