Mainframe Database Administrator

**Responsibilities -**
- Database performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Assisting in the design and implementation of the physical framework of the database
- Perform Health check activities, monitoring and followup
- Explore and help organization to implement best technical practises / recommendations to reduce cost
- Managing and maintaining physical databases including database storage management, procedures and tools for monitoring and tuning of the database objects to ensure service availability and operations
- User management and BAU activities
- Setup and maintenance of Data replication services
- Automate BAU work to improve efficiency and productivity
**Required Skillset -**
- 6+ years of good experience in DB2 Mainframe Application programming and development, design, analysis and coding: PL/1, COBOL, JCL, DB2
- Very good experience with SQL and functions
- Working experience with DB2 Performance Management tools i.e. QMON, Omegamon etc.
- Experience with DB2 SQLs and Application code performance tuning
- Experience with use of problem and change management tools
- Quick and Self
- starter, excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working in a global environment
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn new technologies and methodologies quickly
**Added Advantage -**
- DB2 Certification if any is certainly plus point
- Programming skills with Python, Java,.net
**Education from an accredited University or College -**
- Degree related to Computer Science or IT
- Equivalent education with required experience
