Business Context

Unilever’s Legal Team is a global operation consisting of approximately 480 lawyers covering, among other key areas:

- Lawyers based in nearly all of the operating company territories of the Unilever Group;
- Specialist legal teams grouped into a central resource unit. This team includes such specialists as: M&A, Brand Protection, Intellectual Property, Competition, Compliance & Data, Business Operations (including global procurement, global customer operations, global capabilities, supply chain and regional or local procurement), and
- These teams are supported by a variety of external legal supports, ranging from shorter-term contract lawyers, to panels of contracted supports, to specialist LPO providers and also law firms.

The current role will provide operations support to lawyers globally primarily in the Key Fields summarised here below. The applicant can be either a lawyer with an interest in legal operations, or can also be an experienced legal operations specialist, analyst or paralegal seeking a new challenge.

These roles will be based in a Global Legal Service Centre (LSC) based in Bangalore, India, and will conduct their business in the English language.

Where this position fits-into the team:
The advertised position, based in Bangalore, India, is a full-time employee role within the Unilever Group and fits-into the wider legal team as follows:
Member of the Global Legal Service Centre (LSC).- Member of the Global Legal Operations team.- Based in Unilever’s offices located in Bangalore, India.- Member of the broader global legal function, cooperating with: all of the lawyers’ network, Business Group lawyers, Business Operations lawyers, Business Unit and country counsels, IP/patent/trademark specialists and other legal colleagues.- Strong emphasis on supporting the administrative tasks, operational tasks and analytics which take time away from other legal team colleagues, working primarily within the Key Fields summarised here below.- The employee, if a lawyer or experienced paralegal, may also be asked to support simpler legal tasks, including Basic contract support as noted below.

- Can manage a workflow that inherently crosses a wide range of time zones.- Can switch between legal administrative and/or operations tasks.- Has an interest in the Key Fields.- Implements efficiency-building initiatives for the business and across the legal function to drive excellence and efficiency.- Actively promotes and facilitates close collaboration between legal teams.- Accepts that the job scope is inherently dynamic, responding as needed to the diverging needs of the wider global legal team.

Within Legal - Business Unit legal teams, Business Group legal teams, Country Legal teams, Business Operations Legal Team, Company Secretarial team, M&A team, Business Integrity teams, Data Privacy teams.

Within Business - business partners from Business Groups, Business Units, Business Operations, Procurement, UniOps.

Critical success Factors for the Job- at least 3 years in corporate function administration and operations work and/or paralegal or analytics work. Experience with legal function administration and operations work would be helpful.- Good experience working with workflow tools, digital collaboration tools, matter management/case management tools, reporting tools. Experience with legal technology tools would be helpful.- Strong English spoken and writing skills.- Experience of working in a global organisation- Experience of work similar to one or more of the Key Fields.- An exceptional ability to collaborate and communicate with others, both internally and externally.- Sound cross-cultural skills, emotional maturity are each essential.- Ability to handle multiple assignments and manage major projects to succ
