**Position**: Spare Parts Store Keeper with Asset Management

**Reports To**: Maintenance Manager/Operations Manager
**Job Summary**:
The Spare Parts storekeeper with Asset Management is responsible for managing the inventory of spare parts and ensuring the availability of necessary components for equipment maintenance and repairs. This role involves tracking, organizing, and maintaining spare parts and tools, as well as managing the company’s physical assets. The position requires close coordination with the maintenance team, vendors, and procurement.
Key Responsibilities:
Spare Parts Inventory Management:
**1. Inventory Control**:
- Maintain an accurate record of spare parts in the store using inventory management software.
- Conduct regular stock counts and audits to ensure consistency in records.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock.
**2. Stock Replenishment**:
- Coordinate with the procurement team to order spare parts when stock reaches the reorder level.
- Ensure timely receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming parts.
**3. Storage & Organization**:
- Properly organize and label spare parts for easy identification and access.
- Ensure the storage area is clean, safe, and complies with safety and regulatory standards.
**4. Issuing Spare Parts**:
- Issue spare parts to maintenance staff based on approved requests.
- Keep accurate records of parts issued for repair and maintenance tasks.
Asset Management:
**1. Asset Tracking**:
- Maintain a database of all company assets, including machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Track the location, condition, and usage of assets.
**2. Asset Utilization**:
- Monitor the utilization of assets and ensure they are being used efficiently and safely.
- Identify underutilized assets and suggest ways to optimize their use.
**3. Asset Maintenance Scheduling**:
- Assist the maintenance team in scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance for company assets.
- Ensure necessary spare parts are available for scheduled maintenance tasks.
**4. Asset Disposal & Replacement**:
- Track asset depreciation and recommend the disposal or replacement of obsolete or non-functional assets.
- Coordinate with the procurement team for the acquisition of new assets.
Reporting & Documentation:
**1. Inventory Reports**:
- Generate and submit regular inventory reports to management, highlighting low stock levels, obsolete parts, and replenishment needs.
**2. Asset Reports**:
- Prepare reports on asset usage, condition, maintenance schedules, and depreciation.
- Assist in the preparation of asset audit reports for compliance and financial reporting.
**Vendor Coordination**:
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts.
- Coordinate with vendors for warranty claims, replacements, and returns.
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure that all spare parts and assets are handled, stored, and maintained in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding the handling of spare parts and assets.
**Required Skills & Qualifications**:
**1. Education**:
- Diploma or Degree in Inventory Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Certification in Asset Management or Inventory Control (preferred).
2. Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in spare parts management, inventory control, or asset management, preferably in a manufacturing, maintenance, or engineering environment.
**3. Technical Skills**:
- Proficient in using inventory management and asset tracking software.
- Familiarity with ERP systems related to stock and asset management.
- Basic understanding of maintenance processes and machinery parts.
**4. Soft Skills**:
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
**Working Conditions**:
- This position may require standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects.
- The role may involve working in environments such as warehouses, workshops, or maintenance areas.

- Timely replenishment of spare parts and supplies.
